Grant Work
This jewelry project reflects my recent achievement of receiving the 2026 South Coast Artist Youth Grant, which has allowed me to further develop my creative practice and explore the connection between art and the natural world. The collection focuses on handcrafted rings inspired by the beauty found in nature, especially within local environments, native plants, and the organic forms that surround us every day.
Each ring is designed to capture the textures, colors, and shapes found in leaves, stones, flowers, vines, and coastal landscapes. Drawing inspiration from the South Coast’s natural scenery, I aim to transform these everyday elements into wearable pieces of art that celebrate both personal expression and environmental appreciation.
Through this project, I want to highlight how nature can serve as both a source of healing and artistic inspiration. By creating jewelry that reflects the elegance of local plants and landscapes, I hope to encourage others to notice the beauty in their own surroundings and develop a deeper connection to the environment. This grant has provided me with the opportunity to expand my skills, experiment with new materials, and continue building a body of work that is meaningful, personal, and rooted in the world around me.
